Canucks Plan Parade Route
September 29, 2008 by Matthew Mcgarnickle
After starting the pre-season 6-0, the Vancouver Canucks have released the routing for the Stanley Cup parade in downtown Vancouver in June 2009.
The parade will begin at the Vancouver Art Gallery and then proceed throughout the rest of the Downtown core. The Cup and the Canucks will travel westbound on Robson Street and then eastbound on Georgia Street. The parade will end at GM Place where a further celebration will take place including speeches from players and coaching staff.
The players will ride in convertibles so all of the onlookers can see their heroes, especially Kyle Wellwood, who is a lock for the Conn Smythe trophy as the playoffs MVP after such a successful pre-season. Daniel and Henrik Sedin will be riding a tandem bicycle.
Police will have strong presence at the parade as Canucks fans have a history of not being able to handle their emotions with alcohol consumption. In preparation the police have already ordered 10,000 rubber bullets and have stated that they will ensure a peaceful celebration through intimidation and violence.

Don’t you think that the parade would also go through Kitsilano?
