Cody Hodgson Scores 3 Points, Canucks Fan Craps Pants

Last night Cody Hodgson gave Vancouver Canucks fans something to get excited about. The 10th overall draft pick from last year had a goal and two assists in a win against the Oiler rookie team.
Mike Gillis, the newly hired GM for the Canucks, was quick to compare Hodgson’s first game to the likes of Wayne Gretzky and Mario Lemieux. “After seeing tonight’s single-game performance I don’t want to get the fans too excited, but it’s safe to say that Hodgson will be a hall of famer and lead our team to many Stanley Cup’s in the immediate future.”
Canucks fans were also quick to hop on the bandwagon, as Hodgson jerseys have been flying off the shelves. Tom Hunter, a fairweather fan of the Canucks, was at SportCheck after last nights game purchasing a Hodgson jersey. “Cory Hodgson is my new hero,” said Hunter, a 41 year old man from Coquitlam. “After hearing about his performance last night I crapped my pants, literally. I can show you my underwear to prove it.”
A passing fan also said, “We don’t want to put too much pressure on the young lad, but anything short of a Stanley Cup is considered a failure.”
Training camp begins on September 19th.
