Crosby Sure to Disappoint after Lackluster Performance

October 4, 2008 by Kevin Brockman

We are only into day 1 of the new NHL season and already it’s looking like a disappointment for Sydney Crosby fans. Playing the Ottawa Senators today the Pittsburgh Penguins won 4-3 overtime thriller to start their year. Crosby notched 1 assist on the night and now on pace for a lowly 82 points this season. It hasn’t taken long for fantasy hockey fanatics to voice their displeasure with the young phenom. “Wow, I can’t believe I took this guy first overall,” Sydney Crosby fantasy owner Jason Weeks fumes. “I expected way more out of him than this. I mean, Tyler Kennedy had 2 goals, maybe I should have taken him instead.”

Crosby, in his 4th NHL season is under pressure this year after a lackluster performance saw him only record 72 points in 53 games last year, a pace that would have seen him reach the 100 point mark for the 3rd straight year. “Yeah, it’s frustrating as hell,” Jason continues, “I didn’t have him in the pool last year and I was praying he got hurt. My dreams came true last season. It was too perfect. I knew he would suck this year now that I finally have him.”

After this interview it was revealed that Jason’s frustration over Crosby’s single assist escalated out of control upon this reporters departure. Details remain sketchy, but reports from Victoria Saanich police indicate that the family dog Scruffles was severely beaten and his mother had been pushed down a flight of 40 stairs. Mrs. Weeks is listed in critical condition. The only official word on the situation from Constable Bill Rickards is “we think the attacks were fantasy hockey related. Being a fantasy owner myself, I can understand his frustration.”

The Pittsburgh Penguins and Sydney Crosby have 81 games remaining this season.

Yah, you sure are! Man, Crosby is one of the best players ever! How is someone like you even allowed near a keyboard, let alone paid over $1000 per article? You should be fired immediately. I am going to write a letter to the owners of this site to have you banned from writing articles. You are soooo misinformed.

me again. crosby finishes 3rd in scoring. fail on your part…again. by the way crosby missed 5 games this season. geno finished with 113 while a.o finished at 110. due to the fact the sid averages 1.33 ppg more than evgeni and ovie. if sid achieved 7 points in those 5 which is very easy to achieve…well look at that.
