Mukmuk And Gordon Campbell…More Than Friends?
November 30, 2008 by Joe Nathan
After an intense “Free Mukmuk” internet campaign spearheaded by Vancouver Sun writer Jeff Lee, the cute Vancouver Island marmot was freed from 2010 Mascot Prison.
VANOC has announced a new line of Mukmuk related merchandise which includes t-shirts, pins, plush toys and blenders. Like most Olympic merchandise, prices will range from $50 to $600. Worth every penny.
Soon after Mukmuk was released, video evidence was unveiled that Gordon Campbell and the Vancouver Island marmot may be ‘more than friends.’
The Daily Seagull contacted Premier Campbell about the relationship.
“To clarify things, Mukmuk and I are just friends,” said Campbell. “He’s a great little marmot, with lots of energy, and his eyes could melt a snowman’s heart. But we’re just friends.”
The Daily Seagull also contacted Mukmuk and asked the marmot what Mascot Prison was like.
“You call it Mascot Prison, we call it marketing strategy brilliance,” said Mukmuk, as he waved around his #1 orange foam finger.

I knew it!
