Palin’s Foreign Policy Experience: She Plays the Board Game ‘Risk’
September 23, 2008 by Matthew Mcgarnickle
Republican vice-presidential nominee Sarah Palin is meeting international leaders this week to help convince voters she is ready for the world stage. Palin has meetings set with Iraqi Presiden Jala Talabani, Colombian President Alvaro Uribe and U2 frontman Bono.
Voters have raised concerns about the the Alaskan Governor’s lack of foreign policy experience, but Palin is not concerned. “I played a lot of the board game Risk as a child with my family and friends, and I think I was pretty good at it,” said Palin. “I was great at making strategic alliances and rolling the dice in my pursuit to conquer the world. Therefore, I am confident I will be an excellent world leader.”
The democrats were quick to comment on Palin’s ‘experience.’ “So she plays Risk and suddenly she’s ready to lead the free world?” said Travis Lee, campaign manager for the democrats. “Well for your information, before Barrack Obama goes to bed he plays a game of Monopoly and Battleship. And sometimes if he has enough time he’ll even play a quick game of Connect 4. Can Palin do this? I don’t think so.”
Next week the vice-presidential candidates square off for a debate, but Palin is not concerned with her inexperience in debates. “I am not worried about the debate because I just watched the movie The Great Debaters last night, so I am very prepared for next week” said Palin.
